Hello I’m Thea…
I’m an illustrator and ceramic artist living on the Suffolk coast. I live and work surrounded by the most beautiful landscape and coastline which inspires me everyday.
I have a lovely little shop in Southwold, and together with my small team of wonderful staff we create a wide range of ceramics, textiles and paper goods, and have become a familiar part of the town and the independent shopping scene.
I started Gallery Thea in 2001, in a tiny barn tucked behind The Bell Inn in Walberswick, the Pub my mum ran at the time. These early days were so much fun, it wasn’t glamorous but it was the beginning of an incredible journey and I have loved every minute!
20 years on I now have an extensive range of ceramics, each piece is hand drawn by me then painted and fired in my kiln. In addition I also design and sell greetings cards, tea towels, aprons, prints and paintings.
I am also extremely honoured to have designed the RNLI calendars for the last 5 years, which is a organisation very close to my heart.
You’ll often find my assistant Beau the Bedlington keeping me company at the shop, he’s nice to have around but his painting skills need a bit more work!
If you find yourself in Southwold please pop in to say hello, we’d love to see you!
