An illustrator and ceramic artist living on the Suffolk coast.

I started Gallery Thea in 2001 in a tiny barn tucked behind The Bell Inn in Walberswick, the pub my mum ran at the time. It was the beginning of a creative adventure that has now spanned more than twenty years.

Today, together with my small team, I create hand-painted ceramics, cards, gift wrap, and artwork from my gallery in Southwold. I particularly love creating personalised and bespoke pieces that celebrate special people, places, and memories.

Many of my ideas begin while out walking with my Bedlington Terrier, Beau, who can often be found asleep nearby while I’m painting. I’ve always found inspiration in the natural world and the little things that bring joy to everyday life. Colour, pattern, wildlife, flowers, and the changing seasons all play a part in my work, as do the special moments worth celebrating, from weddings and anniversaries to treasured family memories.

My designs have been stocked by John Lewis, and I’ve even had the pleasure of creating a bespoke plate for Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond that appeared on This Morning, which was a rather surreal moment! I am also extremely honoured to have designed the RNLI calendars for the last 5 years, which is an organisation very close to my heart.

More than twenty years on, I still feel incredibly lucky to spend my days creating and bringing both my own ideas and those of my customers to life.
